Samsung Armani flavor review
Posted by admin | Category: Mobile Phone
When the LG Prada hit the scene more than a year ago, touch-screen phones were still a novelty. It stood out from the rest of the crowd with its sleek, minimalist look and designer house backing. Since then, the Apple iPhone has taken the touch-screen crown and has become the phone to beat, with many manufacturers coming out with touch-screen handsets as well. Samsung is no exception and has followed the LG Prada route by partnering with a major designer fashion house–Giorgio Armani–to produce the appropriately named Samsung Armani. The look and feel of the Armani is certainly deserving of such a brand, from its slim and compact body right down to the flashy menu interface. Sadly, its features are rather staid and do not match up to its looks. The Armani will certainly fulfill your desire for an attractive and glamorous phone, but we suggest looking elsewhere for something with a few more features. Also, since you can’t buy it with a U.S. carrier, you’ll have to cough up around $579 to get your hands on the unlocked version.
Design
The Samsung Armani absolutely epitomizes its namesake. Decked out in a glossy black steel case, the Armani has a very sleek and attractive design that earns its fashion phone branding. It comes in a very fancy black box showcasing it like a piece of jewelry, with a soft microfiber cloth case. Measuring 3.44 inches tall by 2.14 inches wide by 0.41 inch thick, the Armani is one of the more compact touch-screen handsets we’ve seen and can be easily slipped into a jeans pocket. It’s a good thing it comes with a microfiber cloth case, since the glossy black surface does make it prone to fingerprint smudges.

I-mate Ultimate 9502 standard package review
Posted by admin | Category: Smartphone, Windows Mobile
I-mate Ultimate 9502 is the larger sibling of the i-mate Ultimate 8502, and shares the honour of being Australia’s first HSUPA phone. While this phone is in the same league as a Blackberry or the iPhone, be wary of Telstra’s promised internet speeds.
Design wise
What is immediately striking about the i-mate 9502 is the bright 2.8-inch touch screen that occupies most of the front panel. The generous 640×480 resolution means you can really enjoy multimedia content on this phone.
Unlike its smaller sibling, the i-mate Ultimate 8502, the QWERTY keyboard on the 9502 is hidden underneath a sliding screen. While it’s quite small, raised keys means typing is acceptable. In a similar manner to the iPhone, the 9502 automatically detects which way the phone is oriented and tips the screen accordingly.
At 116 by 60 by 17.8mm the 9502 is just fractionally larger than its smaller sibling, the 8502. While this isn’t a small phone, it’s a compact for the range of features it offers — and much smaller than a monster like Nokia’s E90 Communicator.
The 9502 offers a range of additional buttons, and we like the scroll wheel placed on the top left hand corner along with the with e-mail and IE key shortcuts. One annoying feature is that the button placed on the left hand side of the phone sits right next to the sliding screen, which opens in a spring loaded fashion. This left us occasionally pushing the screen rather than the "OK" or "wireless" shortcut.

With the introduction of Ice1000 we are getting the impression that Sumvision is quite the contender in the iPhone killing category. The Ice1000 is a smallish touchscreen media player that looks cuter than this Ainol iPod Touch Nano wannabe and just as “steely” as the LG FM37. This 2.8-inch player boasts a QVGA (320 x 240) resolution, supports horizontal viewing and plays XviD (AVI) and XviD (MP4) It comes with 4GB built-in and a microSD slot for memory extension. Price is £59.99 or $88.00 in UK.
